Electric mobility is no longer just an ambition for the future — it is a priority today. Urgent efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, coupled with rapid technological advancements, are driving the adoption of electric vehicles and reshaping the logistics landscape.

For logistics and service-driven organisations, fleet operations account for a large proportion of both operational costs and environmental impact. The evolution of electric trucks (e-trucks) addresses these challenges by offering increased range and reliability, bringing more autonomy and efficiency to the road.

REISSWOLF is leading the transition in Hamburg.

REISSWOLF has been at the forefront of mobile sustainability by introducing electric vehicles in its fleet. In the streets of Hamburg, Germany, the company currently operates five electric trucks for its document and data destruction services.

This transition enables REISSWOLF to cover the entire operational area of its Hamburg facility with fully electric vehicles, significantly reducing emissions while maintaining the highest security and efficiency standards. This shift has also proven to be economically resilient, particularly in the context of rising fuel costs.

A new benchmark: Volvo FL Electric.

The latest addition to the fleet, the Volvo FL Electric, is a significant advancement in electric transport capabilities.
With six batteries delivering a total nominal output of 565 kWh, this impressive vehicle has a range of up to 500 km and a payload capacity of over 16 tons. This combination of performance and sustainability makes it ideal for intensive daily operations.

Volvo Trucks distinguished with the German Sustainability Award.

Volvo Trucks has been awarded the German Sustainability Award in recognition of its commitment to reducing environmental impact across the entire value chain.

Volvo Trucks demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability by integrating zero-emission steel into its electric truck production and by operating climate-neutral manufacturing facilities. Its diverse range of products includes combustion engines compatible with biodiesel and gas-powered trucks that use bio-LNG, as well as fully electric vehicles. This comprehensive approach reflects a clear objective: to reduce environmental impact through a holistic, forward-looking strategy significantly. Currently, around 30% of each vehicle is made from recycled materials, and up to 90% can be recovered and reused at the end of its lifecycle.

“We are very proud that our consistent commitment and perseverance on the path to becoming a CO₂-neutral company with innovative products is being recognized with the German Sustainability Award,” said Markus Weckesser, Managing Director and Vice President of Volvo Trucks in Germany, in an article about the prize: Volvo Trucks Receives German Sustainability Award (in German).

A continuous journey towards sustainability.

REISSWOLF has gone a long way since it introduced its first electric truck in Hamburg in March 2023, which was also a Volvo truck, with a range up to 250 kilometers. By adopting electric trucks, REISSWOLF ensures that clients’ data and documents are transported to the Wendenstraße destruction facility with zero emissions, while maintaining the highest levels of security and operational reliability.

Positive client feedback and the growing focus on environmental sustainability continue to motivate the company to develop its services further and strengthen its sustainability strategy under the REISSWOLF Go. Green. initiative.

E-mobility in REISSWOLF international partners’ network.

Across the REISSWOLF international network, partners are actively adopting more environmentally responsible solutions.

A recent example is REISSWOLF Bulgaria, which has introduced a fully electric van to its fleet. Designed for urban operations, the vehicle has a load capacity of 800–900 kg and can travel up to 450 km on a single charge, enabling efficient, low-emission service delivery.

Moving forward and being eco-friendly.

Mobility is a key factor in operational emissions. That’s why REISSWOLF is gradually aligning its fleet with electromobility solutions, first in Germany and progressively with our partners worldwide. In doing so, we ensure sustainable mobility that works seamlessly in everyday operations and for everyone involved.

If you want to learn more about e-mobility and explore this solution in your activities, we challenge you to start now looking for your next electric truck. Learn more at: Volvo Trucks and Volvo Trucks Nord in Germany, our official sponsor of the REISSWOLF International Meeting this year.
