ISO/IEC 21964:2018 has standardized the requirements for data carrier destruction internationally. Since 2018, it has therefore served as an international benchmark and standardization in dealing with the topic of data protection. As a result, the same requirements and identical procedures apply worldwide for the proper destruction of data storage media.
